Hosted LPAR
Logical partitioning (LPAR) is an innovative approach to server management that offers the benefits and efficiencies of server consolidation without sacrificing the flexibility and scalability of maintaining separate servers for discrete business functions. Hosted LPAR (HLPAR) is defined as the use of an LPARs on a server owned, hosted and maintained by a managed-service provider such as Invision.
Invision offers highly flexible levels of support, enabling customers to contract for services according to their needs. Available levels of service include secure space for a customer-owned server; services such as monitoring and performance of limited hands-on tasks, complete administration, and 24x7x365 support.
One of the most popular uses of a Hosted LPAR is for organizations to obtain a high-availability solution, in which a second LPAR provides backup, hot standby, load-balancing, compliance and other benefits of high availability for an organization's primary production server.
Remote Management
Invision can provide remote management of your iSeries infrastructure housed at your facilities (or other host facilities). We remotely monitor and respond to operations-level events and logs, and escalate actions based upon your company's defined protocol. This is a low impact, quick activation service that offers high value for businesses that require more than 9 to 5 support.
Many organizations take advantage of this service to augment their daily operations with remote 2nd and 3rd shift coverage. Or, if your equipment is currently co-located at a host facility that does not offer managed services, Invision can remotely manage your equipment. This option includes all managed services with the exception of any hands-on services such as tape backup and equipment swaps.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery Solutions
Co-locate your high availability and DR equipment at Invision's Data Center to minimize risk from a failure to the primary production system. The "shadow" system at Invision will use high availability replication software to ensure a complete image of the production system is available. We support leading high availability/data replication software such as Vision Solutions, Lakeview's Mimix, ITERA and Data Mirror.
